Capacity Ireland’s inaugural Breaking the Patterns exhibition in Dublin, will be hosted at the distinguished Farmleigh Gallery on 22nd February 2025 from 2 - 5pm.
The exhibition will showcase select pieces from the three-month residencies and exhibitions held in Seville and Lisbon in 2024, featuring both Capacity Ireland artists and a curated selection of local emerging artists from these culturally rich cities. All are welcome to join us for an inspiring afternoon that highlights innovative work by emerging visual artists who have reimagined their practice through international residency experiences.
In 2025, the Breaking the Patterns project will culminate in two national exhibitions in Ireland, celebrating the creative outcomes of our international residencies.
These exhibitions bring together a collective of Irish and international emerging visual artists working across a range of mediums—including film, sculpture, performance, and painting. Each artist contributes a unique perspective on the theme, challenging conventional boundaries and exploring new creative pathways.
With both Irish and international voices represented, this exhibition offers a rare opportunity to engage with the dynamic creative expressions shaping today’s visual arts landscape. It underscores the vital role of cultural and creative exchange in fostering new artistic visions and broadening perspectives across borders.
